CHANGE IN THE AIR

Scottow Enterprise Park

Scottow Enterprise Park is located at the former RAF Coltishall – one of Norfolk’s most important historic airfields. Norfolk County Council plans to develop the site with due regard to its heritage and in recognition of all those who served there. Their aim is for people who live and work there today and visitors to see, understand, appreciate and enjoy it.

RAF Coltishall was originally built as an “Expansion Period” bomber base in 1939, but was changed to a fighter station in 1940. It later became a front line fighter station in the first half of the Cold War and was in use until 2006 when the station was closed after 66 years of continuous service.

Change is now in the air for the former RAF Coltishall with its transformation into Scottow Enterprise Park. Despite this the heritage of the site will remain with former RAF buildings being re-developed, Memorial Services, Heritage Open Days and tours of the site planned across the year.
